לַמְנַצֵּחַ בִּנְגִינֹת מִזְמוֹר לְאָסָף שִׁיר׃

For the leader; with instrumental music.A psalm of Asaph, a song.

נוֹדָע בִּיהוּדָה אֱלֹהִים בְּיִשְׂרָאֵל גָּדוֹל שְׁמוֹ׃

God is known in Judah, God’s name is great in Israel;

3

וַיְהִי בְשָׁלֵם סוּכּוֹ וּמְעוֹנָתוֹ בְצִיּוֹן׃

Salem became an abode; Zion, the divine den.

4

שָׁמָּה שִׁבַּר רִשְׁפֵי־קָשֶׁת מָגֵן וְחֶרֶב וּמִלְחָמָה סֶלָה׃

There [God] broke the fiery arrows of the bow, the shield and the sword of war. Selah.

5

נָאוֹר אַתָּה אַדִּיר מֵהַרְרֵי־טָרֶף׃

You were resplendent, glorious, on the mountains of prey.

6

אֶשְׁתּוֹלְלוּ אַבִּירֵי לֵב נָמוּ שְׁנָתָם וְלֹא־מָצְאוּ כׇל־אַנְשֵׁי־חַיִל יְדֵיהֶם׃

The stout-hearted were despoiled; they were in a stupor; the bravest of soldiers could not lift a hand.

מִגַּעֲרָתְךָ אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב נִרְדָּם וְרֶכֶב וָסוּס׃

At Your blast, O God of Jacob, horse and chariot lay stunned.

8

אַתָּה נוֹרָא אַתָּה וּמִי־יַעֲמֹד לְפָנֶיךָ מֵאָז אַפֶּךָ׃

O You! You are awesome! Who can withstand You when You are enraged?

9

מִשָּׁמַיִם הִשְׁמַעְתָּ דִּין אֶרֶץ יָרְאָה וְשָׁקָטָה׃

In heaven You pronounced sentence; the earth was numbed with fright

10

בְּקוּם־לַמִּשְׁפָּט אֱלֹהִים לְהוֹשִׁיעַ כׇּל־עַנְוֵי־אֶרֶץ סֶלָה׃

as God rose to execute judgment, to deliver all the lowly of the earth. Selah.

11

כִּי־חֲמַת אָדָם תּוֹדֶךָּ שְׁאֵרִית חֵמֹת תַּחְגֹּר׃

Even the fiercest among humans shall acknowledge You, when You gird on the last bit of fury.

12

נִדְרוּ וְשַׁלְּמוּ לַיהֹוָה אֱלֹהֵיכֶם כׇּל־סְבִיבָיו יֹבִילוּ שַׁי לַמּוֹרָא׃

Make vows and pay them to the ETERNAL your God; those all around shall bring tribute to the Awesome One—

יִבְצֹר רוּחַ נְגִידִים נוֹרָא לְמַלְכֵי־אָרֶץ׃ {פ}

who curbs the spirit of princes, inspires awe in the kings of the earth.
