הַלְלוּ־יָהּ אַשְׁרֵי־אִישׁ יָרֵא אֶת־יְהֹוָה בְּמִצְוֺתָיו חָפֵץ מְאֹד׃

Hallelujah. א Happy are those who fear GOD, who are ardently devoted to God’s commandments.

גִּבּוֹר בָּאָרֶץ יִהְיֶה זַרְעוֹ דּוֹר יְשָׁרִים יְבֹרָךְ׃

ג Their descendants will be mighty in the land, ד a blessed generation of the upright.

3

הוֹן־וָעֹשֶׁר בְּבֵיתוֹ וְצִדְקָתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַד׃

ה Wealth and riches are in their house, ו and their beneficence lasts forever.

4

זָרַח בַּחֹשֶׁךְ אוֹר לַיְשָׁרִים חַנּוּן וְרַחוּם וְצַדִּיק׃

ז A light shines for the upright in the darkness; gracious, compassionate, and beneficent.

טוֹב־אִישׁ חוֹנֵן וּמַלְוֶה יְכַלְכֵּל דְּבָרָיו בְּמִשְׁפָּט׃

ח ט All goes well with those who lend generously, יwho conduct affairs with equity.

כִּי־לְעוֹלָם לֹא־יִמּוֹט לְזֵכֶר עוֹלָם יִהְיֶה צַדִּיק׃

כ They shall never be shaken; לthe beneficent will be remembered forever.

7

מִשְּׁמוּעָה רָעָה לֹא יִירָא נָכוֹן לִבּוֹ בָּטֻחַ בַּיהֹוָה׃

מ They are not afraid of evil tidings; נtheir heart is firm, they trust in GOD.

8

סָמוּךְ לִבּוֹ לֹא יִירָא עַד אֲשֶׁר־יִרְאֶה בְצָרָיו׃

ס Their heart is resolute, they are unafraid; עin the end they will see the fall of their foes.

9

פִּזַּר נָתַן לָאֶבְיוֹנִים צִדְקָתוֹ עֹמֶדֶת לָעַד קַרְנוֹ תָּרוּם בְּכָבוֹד׃

פ They give freely to the poor; צtheir beneficence lasts forever; קtheir horn is exalted in honor.

רָשָׁע יִרְאֶה וְכָעָס שִׁנָּיו יַחֲרֹק וְנָמָס תַּאֲוַת רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵד׃ {פ}

ר The wicked shall see it and be vexed; שthey shall gnash their teeth; their courage shall fail. תThe desire of the wicked shall come to nothing.
