שִׁגָּיוֹן לְדָוִד אֲשֶׁר־שָׁר לַיהֹוָה עַל־דִּבְרֵי־כוּשׁ בֶּן־יְמִינִי׃

Shiggaion of David, which he sang to GOD, concerning Cush, a Benjaminite.

2

יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהַי בְּךָ חָסִיתִי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי מִכׇּל־רֹדְפַי וְהַצִּילֵנִי׃

O my ETERNAL God, in You I seek refuge; deliver me from all my pursuers and save me,

3

פֶּן־יִטְרֹף כְּאַרְיֵה נַפְשִׁי פֹּרֵק וְאֵין מַצִּיל׃

lest, like a lion, they tear me apart, rending in pieces, and no one save me.

4

יְהֹוָה אֱלֹהַי אִם־עָשִׂיתִי זֹאת אִם־יֶשׁ־עָוֶל בְּכַפָּי׃

O my ETERNAL God, if I have done such things, if my hands bear the guilt of wrongdoing,

5

אִם־גָּמַלְתִּי שׁוֹלְמִי רָע וָאֲחַלְּצָה צוֹרְרִי רֵיקָם׃

if I have dealt evil to my ally— I who rescued my foe without reward—

6

יִרַדֹּף־אוֹיֵב נַפְשִׁי וְיַשֵּׂג וְיִרְמֹס לָאָרֶץ חַיָּי וּכְבוֹדִי לֶעָפָר יַשְׁכֵּן סֶלָה׃

then let the enemy pursue and overtake me; let my life be trampled to the ground, and my body dwell in the dust. Selah.

קוּמָה יְהֹוָה בְּאַפֶּךָ הִנָּשֵׂא בְּעַבְרוֹת צוֹרְרָי וְעוּרָה אֵלַי מִשְׁפָּט צִוִּיתָ׃

Rise, O ETERNAL One, in Your anger; assert Yourself against the fury of my foes; bestir Yourself in my behalf; You have ordained judgment.

וַעֲדַת לְאֻמִּים תְּסוֹבְבֶךָּ וְעָלֶיהָ לַמָּרוֹם שׁוּבָה׃

Let the assembly of peoples gather about You, with You enthroned above, on high.

9

יְהֹוָה יָדִין עַמִּים שׇׁפְטֵנִי יְהֹוָה כְּצִדְקִי וּכְתֻמִּי עָלָי׃

GOD judges the peoples; vindicate me, O ETERNAL One, for the righteousness and blamelessness that are mine.

10

יִגְמׇר־נָא רַע רְשָׁעִים וּתְכוֹנֵן צַדִּיק וּבֹחֵן לִבּוֹת וּכְלָיוֹת אֱלֹהִים צַדִּיק׃

Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous; the One who probes the mind and conscience is God the Righteous.

11

מָגִנִּי עַל־אֱלֹהִים מוֹשִׁיעַ יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב׃

I look to God to shield me; the deliverer of the upright.

12

אֱלֹהִים שׁוֹפֵט צַדִּיק וְאֵל זֹעֵם בְּכׇל־יוֹם׃

God vindicates the righteous; God pronounces doom each day.

13

אִם־לֹא יָשׁוּב חַרְבּוֹ יִלְטוֹשׁ קַשְׁתּוֹ דָרַךְ וַיְכוֹנְנֶהָ׃

If someone [wicked] does not turn back, but whets his sword, bends his bow and aims it,

14

וְלוֹ הֵכִין כְּלֵי־מָוֶת חִצָּיו לְדֹלְקִים יִפְעָל׃

then against himself he readies deadly weapons, and makes his arrows sharp.

15

הִנֵּה יְחַבֶּל־אָוֶן וְהָרָה עָמָל וְיָלַד שָׁקֶר׃

See, he hatches evil, conceives mischief, and gives birth to fraud.

16

בּוֹר כָּרָה וַיַּחְפְּרֵהוּ וַיִּפֹּל בְּשַׁחַת יִפְעָל׃

He has dug a pit and deepened it, and will fall into the trap he made.

17

יָשׁוּב עֲמָלוֹ בְרֹאשׁוֹ וְעַל קׇדְקֳדוֹ חֲמָסוֹ יֵרֵד׃

His mischief will recoil upon his own head; his lawlessness will come down upon his skull.

18

אוֹדֶה יְהֹוָה כְּצִדְקוֹ וַאֲזַמְּרָה שֵׁם־יְהֹוָה עֶלְיוֹן׃ {פ}

I will praise GOD for being righteous, and sing a hymn to the name of GOD Most High.
